    Jason was born two years before his sister Colette. He doesn't remember much about his mother, and really didn't notice she'd left when Cole was born. Harris, their father, was tasked with raising two children. He had them, and his bookstore. When Jason and Colette were 17 and 15, their cousin Allison and aunt Hope moved in.

    Jay was a lot more outgoing than his sister, and he was protective of both him and his cousin when Ally moved into their house. He noticed that Cole withdrew from life when Allison left and he tried to be there for his younger sister but she left at eighteen to go to college. He stayed in the city, getting a small apartment near the bookstore.
